EFG Senior - Influenza burden assessment in adults aged of 65 years and more visiting a general practitioner for acute respiratory illness in France

Main objective

Describe and compare the burden of acute respiratory infections (IRA) linked to influenza virus, in terms of morbidity and medical consumption, according to the vaccinal status, in those 65 years and older spontaneously consulting in general practice

Inclusion criteria

• Patient aged 65 years or older
• Patient having an acute respiratory infection defined as a clinical presentation combining the abrupt appearance of respiratory signs (coughing, rhinitis, coryza) in the context of acute infection (fever, asthenia, headache, myalgia, etc.), in less than 48h.

• For patients 80 years and older, the clinical presentations can associate other general signs (mental confusion, dehydration, anorexia, digestive disorders, general malaise, body aches, headache) and respiratory signs (from rhinitis to pneumopathy)

Main objective

To ensure regular monitoring of the patient and those close to them in order to assess the cognitive and non-cognitive aspects of the disease.
To analyse treatment methods, as well as drug- and non-drug-related therapy for elderly people with AD across a national sample with diverse socio-cultural contexts. To identify potential treatment issues, such as repeated hospitalisation or emergency institutionalisation.

Inclusion criteria

- Male and female;
- Patient with Alzheimer's-type dementia.

Inclusion criteria

Adults aged 16 years or more living in Gironde who have malignant or benign primitive brain tumours that were diagnosed between 1st May 1999 and 30th April 2001. Recurrence, secondary tumours, pituitary adenomas, asymptomatic tumours, incidentally discovered and vascular malformations were excluded from the study.

Main objective

Evaluate and compare in general practice the level of prescription for platelet monitoring of patients receiving Arixtra® 2.5 mg (fondaparinux sodium) or an LMWH (low-molecular-weight heparin) in venous thromboprophylaxis.

Inclusion criteria

• Patient of at least 18 years of age
• Bedridden patient or with reduced mobility
Patient for whom a treatment via ARIXTRA® 2.5 mg or an LMWH is initiated within the framework of venous thromboprophylaxis
